It is my understanding that missing the timing is caused by changing the game state between the trigger, and a card's chance to active. If a monster activates its effect, and is negated by Divine Wrath, a Meklord Emperor can still be summoned, as the monster's negated effect doesn't cause a change.
Costs cause a change in game state before the card resolves, so can they cause timing to miss? It seems to me that if I summon Snipe Hunter and call priority, discarding a card for his cost, it changes from “when Snipe Hunter was summoned” to “when a card was discarded,” causing Bottomless Trap Hole to miss. If not, why is this different from Drill Warrior adding a monster to my hand after summoning itself?
If I summon Junk Synchron and call priority, then my opponent chains Effect Veiler, or D.D. Crow, can I still activate Torrential Tribute?
